East Asia Chapter Update - November 2016

Members of the East Asian Chapter of NY Maritime College -

This will be my last posting as chapter president. ABS has laid me off and is sending me home within the next month.

I am so happy that we were able to establish contact. I am also happy to say that I met one of you, Blaine Wu '90, and that's better than nothing! I only hope that this chapter can be kept alive and that some of you will be able to meet some of you sometime soon.

I'll be making a similar post on DomeNet shortly, informing other members of what's going on.

Best wishes...

Happy 4th of July

To the members of the East Asian Chapter of NY Maritime College –

As I told you a few months ago, I’d like to make a monthly posting just to say hello and keep the roster accurate.

Please check your connectivity and confirm that you have access to the site & roster. There were some issues a few months ago, but I believe that this has been corrected.

About

My name is S. M. Patricola. I live near Shanghai, working with ABS as a marine surveyor.

Some time ago, I started to gather information on alumni stationed here in east Asia, with the intent of establishing an informal Maritime support network. I picture the network functioning as a source of contact information. Alumni can offer advice to other alumni regarding issues like emergency cash & ATMs, medical help, and of course, business contacts for the marine industry. This network could be used for business or vacation traveling, and yes, I'm have volunteered be the Chapter President or moderator.

The roster may change frequently, so please feel free to log in and update your own contact and professional information. I’m sure that many alumni are not registerd, so feel free to invite them to sign up on http://www.DomerNetwork.org for inclusion.  If you have any suggestions, feel free to contact me directly.

Best regards,

S. M. Patricola ‘96
