MARITIME COLLEGE ON TV THIS WEEK? - According to our Director of College Relations, Rich Miranda, there is a good chance that you can get a glimpse of "the Dome" on TV this week.

Beginning Wed., Sept 10 and continuing thru Sat. Sept. 13, Clive Cussler, the famous novelist who received an honorary degree from SUNY Maritime last May, will be conducting an underwater expedition from our campus. There is supposed to be national coverage by CBS, ABC, CNN, and the major print media.

Cussler will search for the sunken one-man submarine, FINNIAN'S MODEL, which sank in the 1800's a short distance from Fort Schuyler. Cussler plans to locate, survey and map the wreck and, if possible, recover this 11 foot vessel. He would like to donate it to our Museum, where cadets can help restore and preserve it for public display.
